CHOMPIN' CHEDDARY BISCUITS

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of self raising flour
  • 1 cup of wholewheat flour
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (you can substitute with any other cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • ¾ cup of milk
  • Grated parmesan cheese for the topping (optional)

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C or Gas mark 5)
  • Mix the self-raising and wholewheat flours together with the cheese until thoroughly blended.
  • Add the butter and the milk to the mixture.
  • Turn the mixture out onto a floured surface and roll out to approximately half an inch thickness (thinner if preferred).
  • Gently prod the dough with a fork all over and then sprinkle with the parmesan cheese if using.
  • Cut the dough into your desired shapes either with a cookie cutter or by hand.
  • Place the shapes onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Leave to cool before giving to your dog.
  • These biscuits can be stored in an airtight container and placed in the fridge.
